马太福音 10:16-20
“我差你们去，如同羊进入狼群，所以你们要灵巧像蛇，驯良像鸽子。 你们要防备人，因为他们要把你们交给公会，也要在会堂里鞭打你们， 并且你们要为我的缘故被送到诸侯君王面前，对他们和外邦人作见证。 你们被交的时候，不要思虑怎样说话或说什么话，到那时候必赐给你们当说的话； 因为不是你们自己说的，乃是你们父的灵在你们里头说的。

作见证：神透过你说话
“到那时候，必赐给你们当说的话，因为不是你们自己说的，乃是你们父的灵在你们里头说的。” 太 10:19-20
最近有人对我复述一个数年前我在讲道时曾经用过的一个例子，他们说这例子表达的要点对人有帮助，所以，他们常常与儿女分享。
这个例子是关于我们的行为带来的后果的：如果你拿起木条的其中一端，你等如也拿起它的另一端。他们更说我当，时真的拿起一根木条来帮助带出要点。
我不记得自己曾用过这个例子，我甚至不记得曾用木条作示范。我虽然不记得，但我感恩这个例子对人有帮助。
今天的经文说，主应许当我们最需要时，圣灵必赐我们当说的话。纵使不是在受逼迫的情况之下，我仍然相信这个应许是真实的。如果我们倚靠圣灵，神会使用我们的说话，把生命、激励和信念，传送到人的内心的。神能够使用我们的说话带给人在那一刻最需要的信息－虽然有时甚至我们自己也不记得曾说过这些话。
假若我们真的面对逼害，让我们求神把祂的话赐给我们吧。而当我们日常与人交谈时，让我们练习去见证神的美善，好叫我们能随时做好准备。
祷告
耶稣啊，我们为那些因相信祢受到逼害的信徒祷告。求祢赐他们力量和祢要他们说的话。我们见证祢的美善时，求祢也带领我们每一个人。阿们。

WITNESS: GOD SPEAKING THROUGH YOU
“At that time you will be given what to say, for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.”—Matthew 10:19-20
Someone told me recently about an illustration that I used in a sermon several years ago. They said it made a helpful point that they have often shared with their kids through the years. It had to do with the consequences of our actions—if you pick up one end of a stick, you also pick up the other. They said I also used an actual stick to help make the point.
But I don’t remember using that illustration. I don’t even remember using the stick. But I expressed my gratitude that the illustration was helpful, even though I didn’t remember it.
Our passage today talks about the Lord’s promise that the Holy Spirit will give us the words to say when we need them the most. I believe this is true, even in situations when we are not being persecuted. If we lean on the Holy Spirit, God can use our words to breathe life, encouragement, and conviction into the hearts of others. God can use our words to bring exactly what someone needs in that moment—even if we don’t remember everything we have said.
Let’s pray that God will give us his words if we are ever being persecuted. And in our everyday conversations, let’s practice witnessing about his goodness so that we are ready.
Jesus, we pray for believers who are being persecuted for their faith in you. Give them strength and your words to say. Please also guide us all as we witness about your goodness. Amen.
