使徒行传 1:1-11

提阿非罗啊，我已经作了前书，论到耶稣开头一切所行所教训的， 直到他藉着圣灵吩咐所拣选的使徒以后，被接上升的日子为止。 他受害之后，用许多的凭据将自己活活地显给使徒看，四十天之久向他们显现，讲说神国的事。 耶稣和他们聚集的时候，嘱咐他们说：“不要离开耶路撒冷，要等候父所应许的，就是你们听见我说过的。 约翰是用水施洗，但不多几日，你们要受圣灵的洗。”

他们聚集的时候，问耶稣说：“主啊，你复兴以色列国就在这时候吗？” 耶稣对他们说：“父凭着自己的权柄所定的时候、日期，不是你们可以知道的。 但圣灵降临在你们身上，你们就必得着能力，并要在耶路撒冷、犹太全地和撒马利亚，直到地极，作我的见证。” 说了这话，他们正看的时候，他就被取上升，有一朵云彩把他接去，便看不见他了。 当他往上去，他们定睛望天的时候，忽然有两个人身穿白衣站在旁边，说： “加利利人哪，你们为什么站着望天呢？这离开你们被接升天的耶稣，你们见他怎样往天上去，他还要怎样来。”

耶稣升天

耶稣基督……已经进入天堂，在 神的右边；众天使和有权柄的，并有能力的，都服从了他。(彼得前书3:21-22)

多年前，我参观过一次航空展。一架军用喷气机低空掠过跑道后，突然昂首冲天，一直向上飞行，直至隐入云层！当我们看不见飞机时，引擎的轰鸣声也逐渐消散。但我们都知道它终将返航！后来它果然回来了。

门徒们正聚集在耶稣身边时，祂竟然从地面升起，“有一朵云彩把他接去，他们就看不见他了。”当门徒们定睛望天之际，两位天使向他们—也向我们—保证说：这位耶稣将来必以同样方式再来。

耶稣现在何处？祂正坐在神的右边，统管万有。

临别前，耶稣应许门徒要差遣圣灵与他们同在。靠着圣灵的大能，他们将把耶稣的福音传遍万国，教导人如何活出主的门徒应有的样式，并且将来祂必再来，我们将与主永远同住在新天新地！

此刻，耶稣以复活的身体居于天国，同时以祂的神性充满全宇宙。作为万王之王、万主之主，祂正在建立祂的国度，为再来的日子做预备。

祷告

天父啊，我们感谢你赐下的喜乐、平安与安慰，因我们深知你的爱子—我们的主正统管万有。求你帮助我们，作耶稣忠心的门徒，完成你所托付的使命。阿们。

Acts 1:1-11

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 15

THE ASCENSION OF JESUS

Jesus Christ . . . has gone into heaven and is at God’s right hand—with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him. —1 Peter 3:21-22

Years ago, I attended an air show. A military jet flew low over the runway and then turned its nose skyward and flew straight up until the clouds hid it from sight! The sound of its engines faded when we could no longer see the jet. But we all knew it would come back! And it did.

The disciples were gathered with Jesus when suddenly he rose up from the ground, and “a cloud hid him from their sight.” While the disciples were staring up intently, two angels assured them—and us—that this same Jesus would one day return in the same way.

Where is Jesus now? He is seated at God’s right hand, reigning over all creation.

Before he left, Jesus promised his followers that he would send his Holy Spirit to be with them. In the power of the Spirit they would bring the good news of Jesus to the nations and teach people what it means to live as followers of the Lord. And one day he will return, and we will live with the Lord forever in a renewed creation!

Right now, Jesus, in his resurrected human body, is in heaven, and in his divinity he fills the entire universe. As the King of kings and Lord of lords, he is building his kingdom, preparing for the day when he will return.

Heavenly Father, we thank you for the joy, peace, and comfort we have in knowing that your Son, our Lord, is reigning over all creation. Help us to carry out the work you give us as loyal followers of Jesus. Amen.
