约翰福音 3:1-21

有一个法利赛人，名叫尼哥迪慕，是犹太人的官。 这人夜里来见耶稣，说：“拉比，我们知道你是由神那里来做师傅的，因为你所行的神迹，若没有神同在，无人能行。” 耶稣回答说：“我实实在在地告诉你：人若不重生，就不能见神的国。” 尼哥迪慕说：“人已经老了，如何能重生呢？岂能再进母腹生出来吗？” 耶稣说：“我实实在在地告诉你：人若不是从水和圣灵生的，就不能进神的国。 从肉身生的就是肉身，从灵生的就是灵。 我说你们必须重生，你不要以为稀奇。 风随着意思吹，你听见风的响声，却不晓得从哪里来，往哪里去。凡从圣灵生的，也是如此。” 尼哥迪慕问他说：“怎能有这事呢？” 耶稣回答说：“你是以色列人的先生，还不明白这事吗？ 我实实在在地告诉你：我们所说的是我们知道的，我们所见证的是我们见过的，你们却不领受我们的见证。 我对你们说地上的事，你们尚且不信，若说天上的事，如何能信呢？ 除了从天降下仍旧在天的人子，没有人升过天。 摩西在旷野怎样举蛇，人子也必照样被举起来， 叫一切信他的都得永生[a]。

“神爱世人，甚至将他的独生子赐给他们，叫一切信他的不致灭亡，反得永生。 因为神差他的儿子降世，不是要定世人的罪[b]，乃是要叫世人因他得救。 信他的人不被定罪，不信的人罪已经定了，因为他不信神独生子的名。

“光来到世间，世人因自己的行为是恶的，不爱光倒爱黑暗，定他们的罪就是在此。 凡作恶的便恨光，并不来就光，恐怕他的行为受责备； 但行真理的必来就光，要显明他所行的是靠神而行。”

等等…什么！？

“耶稣回答说：‘我实实在在地告诉你，人若不重生，就不能见 神的国。’” - 约翰福音 3:3

在今天的经文中，耶稣的话让法利赛人尼哥底母既困惑又惊奇：

* 若要充分经历神的作为，你必须重生。

* 这种重生，就像你的肉身出生一样，是圣灵成就的神迹。

* 圣灵引导你相信神的儿子耶稣的能力，这能力能够拯救世界脱离罪恶，并赐给你与神永远同在的新生命。

哈？！ 尼哥底母糊涂了。

这并非耶稣的话第一次震动宗教领袖。耶稣在12岁时就做过这种事了。

如今，耶稣的这些话又给我们带来了怎样的震动呢？

对于那些觉得做基督徒只是“自己和耶稣之间私事”的人来说，耶稣话语中那涵盖全世界的宏大视野，可能会让人惊叹不已。对于那些认为基督信仰可以成为“自我主导生活”的一些美好点缀的人来说，重生进入一个完全不同的新生命的概念，却是一个巨大的冲击和挑战。更重要的是，与耶稣的对话，从来都不仅仅是一次普通的对话。

敞开你自己，去领受耶稣对尼哥底母的奇妙说话。这是一个很好的操练，能帮助我们体验耶稣生命中那些事件的奇妙与大能——我们将在本周的濯足日（Maundy Thursday）、受难日（Good Friday）和复活主日（Resurrection Sunday）纪念这些事件——在那时，受造界本身的重生便启动了。

祷告

亲爱的神，求你使我们敞开心扉，以此迎接我们在《圣经》中发现的，以及本周将要遇到的惊喜。奉基督的名祷告。阿们。

John 3:1-21

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 1

WAIT . . . WHAT!?!

Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” —John 3:3

In today’s text Jesus’ words baffled and amazed Nicodemus the Pharisee:

• To experience fully what God is doing, you must be born again.

• This rebirth, like your first birth, is a miracle accomplished by the Holy Spirit.

• The Spirit leads you to believe in the power of Jesus, God’s Son, to save the world from sin and to give you new life forever with God.

Huh!?! Nicodemus was confused.

This was not the first time Jesus’ words jolted a religious leader. Jesus began doing that at the age of 12 (see Luke 2:41-47).

Now, what kinds of surprises do these words of Jesus bring to us today?

For people who sense that being a Christian is only about themselves and Jesus, the global scope of Jesus’ words can be breathtaking. For people who assume that Christian faith can be a nice addition to their self-directed life, the idea of rebirth into a totally new life is a jarring challenge. What’s more, no conversation with Jesus is just a conversation.

Open yourself to the wonder of Jesus’ words to Nicodemus. It’s good practice for experiencing the wonder and power of the events in Jesus’ life that we will remember this week on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Resurrection Sunday— when the rebirth of creation itself was launched.

Dear God, make us open to your surprises that we find in the Bible and that we will encounter this week. In Christ we pray. Amen.
