约翰福音 1:1-5, 9-14

太初有道，道与神同在，道就是神。 这道太初与神同在。 万物是藉着他造的；凡被造的，没有一样不是藉着他造的。 生命在他里头，这生命就是人的光。 光照在黑暗里，黑暗却不接受光。 那光是真光，照亮一切生在世上的人。他在世界，世界也是藉着他造的，世界却不认识他。他到自己的地方来，自己的人倒不接待他。凡接待他的，就是信他名的人，他就赐他们权柄做神的儿女。这等人不是从血气生的，不是从情欲生的，也不是从人意生的，乃是从神生的。道成了肉身，住在我们中间，充充满满地有恩典有真理。我们也见过他的荣光，正是父独生子的荣光。

道

日常生活中我总被文字包围—作为一名编辑，我在工作中要阅读大量的文字。文字有影响力和力量；它们赋予思想以形状，表达内在的意念。常言道“笔杆子胜过枪杆子”，我想这是因为文字能帮助改变思想，而刀剑武器带来的主要是威胁和伤害。

人的话语有时固然有力，但与神的话语相比，就算不得什么了。神说话，祂的话就创造了宇宙（《创世记》1）。神的话可以像火，又像能打碎磐石的大锤（《耶利米书》23:29）。神的话发出，必成就祂的旨意（《以赛亚书》55:10-11）。

“神的道是活泼的，是有功效的，比一切两刃的剑更快，甚至魂与灵，骨节与骨髓，都能刺入、剖开，连心中的思念和主意都能辨明”（《希伯来书》4:12）。神的话不是空言，而“是你们的生命”（《申命记》32:47）。

《约翰福音》第1章还告诉我们：神那活泼、有功效的道与神本为一。这“道”是一个位格，“万物是藉着他造的”。这道甚至成了肉身，进入我们的世界，住在我们中间，行走在我们的街道上，呼吸着我们的空气。祂的名字就是耶稣。

作为神活泼的道，耶稣赐给凡信他的人“权柄，作神的儿女”。你是否已经藉着这道—神的儿子、我们的救主—成了神家里的人？

神的道啊，求你以你的生命和慈爱充满我们。求你藉着你的灵引导我们接待你，相信你的名。阿们。

THE WORD

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. —John 1:1-2

Daily I’m surrounded by words, reading lots of them in my work as an editor. Words can be influential and powerful; they give shape to thoughts and express inner ideas. It has often been said that “the pen is mightier than the sword,” and I think that’s because words can help to change minds, while swords and other weapons will mainly threaten and harm.

Though human words may be powerful at times, they are like nothing compared to God’s words. God spoke, and his words created our universe (Genesis 1). God’s word can be like fire, or like a hammer that breaks rocks (Jeremiah 23:29). God’s word goes out and accomplishes his purposes (Isaiah 55:10-11). “The word of God is alive and active. . . . It penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12). God’s words are not idle; “they are your life” (Deuteronomy 32:47).

John 1 tells us even more: the living and active Word of God is one with God. The Word is a person, and “through him all things were made.” The Word even took on human flesh and moved into our world to come and live with us, walking our streets and breathing our air. And his name is Jesus.

As the living Word of God, Jesus gives all who believe in him “the right to become children of God.” Are you a part of God’s family through this Word, his Son, our Savior?

Word of God, fill us with your life and your love. By your Spirit, guide us to receive you and believe in your name. Amen.
