“腓利就 … 对他传讲耶稣。” - 徒 8:35

这是Valerie第一次来到我的书房，她很兴奋地自我介绍说：“我遇见了神，祂改变了我的生命。”但紧接着她便向我提出她心中的问题：“我需要知道耶稣是谁？”

随后她便分享她如何透过Alcohol Anonymous（戒酒协会）的帮助来摆脱缠扰她很久的酒瘾、神怎样奇妙地答允她在绝望中的祷告。与医生交谈后，她明白这是圣经中的神在作工，所以她来问我——她医生的牧师——这个问题。神已除去了她的束缚，但她渴望知道更多，所以我们便开始畅谈了。

我们谈到圣经，我们谈到圣经显明神爱这个破碎叛逆世界的好消息。我们讨论到耶稣如何完整地表达神的爱和赦免。因着耶稣，我们一定可以有一个全新的开始，一个在信、望、爱中不断成长的生命旅程。

奇妙地，Valerie接受耶稣为她的主和救主。就如一首诗歌所说，我们是有福的，因为神“有能力拯救”。这便是福音的大能。

耶稣是谁？不论你今天会面对什么事，要记得耶稣是你的救主、主和朋友。

祷告

亲爱的神，求你今天向我们显明你自己。惟愿我们生命中所有破碎的地方，都能经历到耶稣赐生命的能力。阿们。

使徒行传 8:26-40

26有主的一个使者对腓利说：“起来，向南走，往那从耶路撒冷下加沙的路上去！”那路是旷野。
27腓利就起身去了。不料，有一个埃塞俄比亚人，是个有大权的太监，在埃塞俄比亚女王干大基的手下总管银库。他上耶路撒冷礼拜去了，
28现在回来，在车上坐着，念先知以赛亚的书。
29圣灵对腓利说：“你去，贴近那车走！”
30腓利就跑到太监那里，听见他念先知以赛亚的书，便问他说：“你所念的你明白吗？”
31他说：“没有人指教我，怎能明白呢？”于是请腓利上车与他同坐。
32他所念的那段经说：“他像羊被牵到宰杀之地，又像羊羔在剪毛的人手下无声，他也是这样不开口。
33他卑微的时候，人不按公义审判他。谁能述说他的世代？因为他的生命从地上夺去。’
34太监对腓利说：“请问，先知说这话是指着谁？是指着自己呢，是指着别人呢？”
35腓利就开口从这经上起，对他传讲耶稣。
36二人正往前走，到了有水的地方，太监说：“看哪，这里有水！我受洗有什么妨碍呢？”
38于是吩咐车站住，腓利和太监二人同下水里去，腓利就给他施洗。
39从水里上来，主的灵把腓利提了去。太监也不再见他了，就欢欢喜喜地走路。
40后来有人在亚锁都遇见腓利；他走遍那地方，在各城宣传福音，直到恺撒利亚。

Who Is Jesus?

"Then Philip . . . told him the good news about Jesus." - Acts 8:35

Valerie sat in my study for the first time. With excitement, she introduced herself and said, "I have met God, and he has changed my life." But then she asked me the question that was on her heart: "But who is Jesus? I need to know."

She went on to share how she had been set free from a long struggle with addiction through Alcoholics Anonymous, where her desperate prayers to God had been remarkably answered. A conversation with her doctor led her to realize that this was the God of the Bible. And that's why she came with her question to me, her doctor's pastor. God had set her free, but she was hungry to know more. So we talked.

We talked about the Bible and the good news it reveals about God's love for a broken and rebellious world. We discussed how Jesus is the full expression of God's love and forgiveness. With Jesus, there can always be a brand-new start and a lifelong journey of growing in faith, hope, and love.

Wonderfully, Valerie came to embrace Jesus as her Lord and Savior. As a song puts it, we are blessed that God "is mighty to save." This is the power of the gospel.

Who is Jesus? Whatever you might be facing today, know that Jesus is your Savior, Lord, and friend.

Prayer

Dear God, reveal yourself to us today. May we experience the life-giving power of Jesus in all the broken places of our lives. Amen.
