约翰福音 11:17-27, 38-43

耶稣到了，就知道拉撒路在坟墓里已经四天了。伯大尼离耶路撒冷不远，约有六里路。有好些犹太人来看马大和马利亚，要为她们的兄弟安慰她们。马大听见耶稣来了，就出去迎接他；马利亚却仍然坐在家里。马大对耶稣说：“主啊，你若早在这里，我兄弟必不死。就是现在，我也知道，你无论向神求什么，神也必赐给你。”耶稣说：“你兄弟必然复活。”马大说：“我知道在末日复活的时候，他必复活。”耶稣对她说：“复活在我，生命也在我。信我的人，虽然死了，也必复活；凡活着信我的人必永远不死。你信这话吗？”马大说：“主啊，是的，我信你是基督，是神的儿子，就是那要临到世界的。”耶稣又心里悲叹，来到坟墓前。那坟墓是个洞，有一块石头挡着。耶稣说：“你们把石头挪开！”那死人的姐姐马大对他说：“主啊，他现在必是臭了，因为他死了已经四天了。”耶稣说：“我不是对你说过，你若信，就必看见神的荣耀吗？”他们就把石头挪开。耶稣举目望天，说：“父啊，我感谢你，因为你已经听我。我也知道你常听我，但我说这话是为周围站着的众人，叫他们信是你差了我来。”说了这话，就大声呼叫说：“拉撒路出来！”

复活与生命

“耶稣对她说：‘复活在我，生命也在我。信我的人虽然死了，也必复活。’” - 约翰福音 11:25

不知道你是不是也是这样，我总倾向把复活看作一件抽像或遥远的事—好像它只与复活节那一天有关，或是末世时间表上的某个日期。

但事实并非如此—而且更为深刻的是：复活本身就是耶稣的一个名字！他说：“复活在我……”（原文直译“我就是复活”）。复活在耶稣基督这一独特的位格中，是“此时此刻”的现实。

生命也是如此。生命并不主要在于拥有一颗跳动的心脏和脑电波。它也不是我们获得、制造、购买或成就的东西。生命是耶稣的一个名字。他说：“我就是……生命……”在向父的祷告中，耶稣说：“认识你—独一的真神，并且认识你所差来的耶稣基督，这就是永生”（《约翰福音》17:3）。

当我们拒绝与“生命”本身建立关系，对耶稣说“不”的时候，我们本质上就像行尸走肉（见《以弗所书》2:1-5）。拒绝耶稣就像待在坟墓里。

罪是坟墓。自我是坟墓。不饶恕是坟墓。色情是坟墓。恐惧、完美主义、骄傲、嫉妒……坟墓无处不在！

听听那位名为“复活与生命”者的声音：“出来吧！”那坟墓不是你待的地方。为什么在死人中找活人呢？（见《路加福音》24:5。）

凡仰望耶稣的人都必得生命。永生从今天开始！

主耶稣，谁能与你相比？感谢你作所有信靠你之人的“复活与生命”。阿们。

THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE

“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live. . . .” —John 11:25

I don’t know about you, but I tend to think of resurrection as an abstract or distant thing—as if it is only about Easter Sunday or a date on the end-times calendar.

But, no—and more profoundly— Resurrection is a name for Jesus! “I am the resurrection . . .” he said. Resurrection is a “right now” reality in the unique person of Jesus Christ.

It’s the same with life. Life is not mainly about having a beating heart and brain waves. Nor is it something we get or make or buy or achieve. Life is a name for Jesus. “I am . . . the life . . .” he said. And in a prayer to his Father, Jesus said, “Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent” (John 17:3).

When we reject a relationship with the Life himself and say “No thanks” to Jesus, then, essentially we are like dead people walking (see Ephesians 2:1-5). Rejecting Jesus is like staying in a tomb.

Sin is a tomb. Self is a tomb. Unforgiveness is a tomb. Pornography is a tomb. Fear, perfectionism, pride, envy . . .— tombs are everywhere!

Hear the voice of the One whose name is the Resurrection and the Life: “Come out!” That tomb is no place for you. Why look for life among the dead? (See Luke 24:5.)

Anyone who looks to Jesus will live. Eternity starts today!

Lord Jesus, who is like you? Thank you for being “the resurrection and the life” to all who believe in you. Amen.
